Anti-Wrinkle Injections

What is it?
Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by a bacteria called Clostridium Botulinum. This protein can be used for medical purposes and anti-ageing treatments.

How does it work?
Botulinum toxin is injected into the muscle stopping it from contracting and forming lines on the face. It can also help soften existing lines restoring a more youthful appearance to the face.

Does it hurt?
The treatment involves using very fine needles to inject the product into the muscle and takes seconds to complete. It is virtually painless and no recovery time is required.

How long does it take to work?
It takes up to 2 weeks for full results and last approximately 3-4 months.

What are fillers?
At The Cosmederm Clinic we use premium dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body and once stablished into a gel they can be used is to effectively enhance our facial features, restore facial volume and revitalise the skin to reduce the signs of ageing.

Does it hurt?
Our premium dermal fillers contain an anaesthetic (Lidocaine) within them but a topical anaesthetic cream may be used prior to the treatment to ensure maximum comfort.

What are the side effects?
The most common side effects are temporary redness, swelling and possible bruising that tend to resolve within a few days.

How long do results take?
Results are immediate and can last from 6 to 18 months
